Costa Cruises, a new role for Neil Palomba

costaCosta Cruises has announced that , as of January 1, 2014 , Neil Palomba has assumed the newly created position of senior vice president of Hotel Operations & Guest Experience, reporting directly to Michael Thamm , CEO of Costa Crociere. In this role, Neil Palomba will develop and oversee the management of the hotel services and hospitality to the guests on board the Costa fleet . “With his expertise and his extensive international experience in the industry, Neil will make a substantial contribution to our executive team ,” said the CEO of Costa Crociere , Michael Thamm . ” Neil will be responsible to give further impetus to the future development of Costa Crociere , focusing on continuous improvement through operational excellence , to make the experience of our guests on board an unforgettable holiday .”

Neil has a long experience in the cruise industry , which began in 1996 with MSC Cruises , where he held several roles on board the fleet , and became in 2001 a project manager for new construction , with the task of coordinating all departments involved in the construction of new ships. In 2006 he was appointed chief operating officer of the office of Sales and Marketing MSc in Fort Lauderdale , which is responsible for the markets of USA, Canada, Caribbean and Mexico. In 2010 he moved to Geneva for the position of corporate operating officer , with the strategic objective of maximizing the profitability , establishing performance metrics and developing new destinations, including oversight of all operations in South Africa.
